Keratin vs. peptame

Do you find that you are fighting your frizz daily? Peptame or Keratin could be the treatment for you.

At Exhibit A we use Peptame and Keratin as a smoothing and straightening treatments that help take control of unruly hair.

What is the difference between Keratin and Peptame?

Keratin

Keratin is a traditional straightening treatment which involves straightening the keratin solution into the hair. Here at Exhibit A, we use the Brasil Cacau keratin treatment.

Applying the treatment to the hair generally takes over an hour depending on the hair type and length. The treatment lasts for approximately up to 3 months.

Peptame

Unlike Keratin, Peptame is less invasive and involves a simple, two-step process. Step one is the taming shampoo and step two is the taming mask. The whole process takes only 45 minutes to an hour. This means less time in the chair for you.

Peptame generally lasts for up to 8 weeks.

Things to consider when weighing up what is best for you:

  • Time – Keratin treatments take longer to apply.
  • Cost – Peptame is a more cost-effective treatment.
  • Longevity of results – Keratin will last longer.

At the end of the day, either treatment will result in smooth, glossy, and manageable hair.
