Is sustainability important to you when you are looking for a hairdresser? Exhibit A is proud to be a sustainable hair salon located in Miranda in the Sutherland Shire.
What does it mean to be a sustainable salon?
Hair salons generally produce waste through product bottles, chemicals and by products from hair clippings.
As a Member of Sustainable Salons, we are part of a network which seeks to reduce the ecological footprint of hair salons, drive towards zero waste and support charitable causes.
Through the Sustainable Salons network, we save waste from landfill by recycling our salon materials which include metals, products, and packaging. This means that all our bottles, foils and chemicals are safely disposed of and recycled appropriately.
Sustainability also comes in the form of recycling hair clippings and ponytails for donation.
Hair clippings shorter than 20cm are repurposed and used for research into The Hair Bloom Project. Ponytails which are 20cm and above are donated to local wig makers and charitable organisations.
If you are interested in going from long to short hair, ask us about donating your ponytail at your next service.
It is important for us to all do our bit. That’s why when you visit Exhibit A, you can be sure that you are having a positive impact on the environment.
